Associate Director, Deans Office Budget & Resource Planning – MSP 3, Los Angeles, CA
The DGSOM is comprised of 24 academic departments, 5 organized research units, and 5 interdisciplinary research centers and is the academic home to approximately 3200 faculty and 2500 trainees, students and fellows. The DGSOM employs about 6200 staff and non-faculty academics. The DGSOM’s annual revenue totals approximately $2B, its expendable net assets approx. $500M and its endowments and quasi endowments approximately $1.5B.
The Associate Director, Dean’s Office Budget & Resource Planning, reports to the Executive Director, Finance and serves as a key strategic leader within the Financial Affairs Unit of the Dean’s Office. Managing a team of two Finance Business Partners, the position is responsible for leading and managing all components of the Dean’s Office annual budget process, monthly forecast, variance analyses, and multi‐year financial plan. S/he oversees the provision of financial consulting and strategic support to the Dean’s Office executive leadership team, central administration leadership, medical education leadership, and auxiliary program leadership. The position provides key input to the structure and functionality of the Dean’s Office commitment tracking application and ensures the appropriate management of all Dean’s commitments through the application. This includes the development of reports and analytics to inform decisions regarding department program support and institutional investment requests.
Education, Experience Certifications
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, education or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. You’ll also need a minimum of 7 years’ FP&A and budget management experience with a proficient knowledge of accounting concepts including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow. A CMA or MBA is preferred.
