Financial Reporting Director - UC Health Business Center - Financial Services(Job Number: 041617)

Description

Primary Purpose:

The Director of Financial Reporting will report to the Corporate Controller and be responsible for the oversight of financial reporting for UC Health which includes completion of the company’s consolidated annual audit report, annual audit reports for several employee-benefit plans, monthly financial reporting to senior management and the Board, required regulatory surveys, monthly lease analysis under GAAP, and ad hoc requests. This role has responsibility for the accuracy, reliability and consistency of all financial information provided to internal and external sources, remaining current with GAAP required accounting and financial statement disclosures, maintenance and monitoring of internal controls over financial reporting, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures related to financial reporting and development of staff within the department.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor Degree in Accounting required.

Licenses and Certifications: Active CPA

Years of Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a mix of accounting, financial reporting and tax preparation; experience in Big 4 public accounting strongly preferred; healthcare provider experience a plus.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • Public Accounting (Big 4) experience HIGHLY preferred.
  • Hospital and/or Not for Profit Sector experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of not-for-profit and healthcare accounting and reporting in accordance with GAAP.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and engage, motivate, and energize others.
  • Must possess unquestionable integrity and confidence to make good decisions in a timely manner.
  • Is actively committed to driving results and meeting or exceeding the expectations of our employees by creating an atmosphere of learning, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong intelligence, both in critical thinking and conceptual reasoning.
  • Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Office.

Work Environment: This position works in a business office setting. The Director - Report will be required to varying work hours including extended days based upon the business needs as they occur throughout the month and year.
